Why I'm Running The Pretty Muddy 5K

Hey lovelies,

I just logged onto my blog to see that I had 24 different blog posts all half-finished and waiting to be published, but instead of simply finishing one of these I wanted to talk about something that I think is quite important.

In May of this year I’m going to be running the Pretty Muddy 5K for Cancer Research. Whilst a 5K walk might not seem like much of a challenge, after all it is only 3 miles, the obstacles that need climbing over, crawling under and pushing through make it all that more tough. But what’s even more tough to think about, is the fact that women from all over the country are getting together to get through these obstacles in the hopes that they can raise money in memory of their loved ones.

Cancer is something that affects everyone. There are currently 2.5 million people in the UK that have been diagnosed, and by the end of the year it is estimated that more than a thousand people will be diagnosed every day. Over 50% of people diagnosed survive, and it is predicted that by 2030 the number of people surviving more than 5 years after diagnosis will more than double. The outlook is good, but with our help, it could be even better. (Statistics from Macmillan Cancer Support)

I’ve known friends, family members and colleagues who have been diagnosed, and luckily many of them won their battles, but unfortunately there were also a few who didn’t.

I’m not only running for them, I’m running for hope too. Hope that one day we will find a cure, and no one will lose their battle. Hope that families won’t be torn apart, and that people can live their lives surrounded by their loved ones, instead of their memories.

Research into cancer prevention and cancer treatments are progressing daily, but without funding, these new technologies take longer to develop, and the cure is just that bit further away. I’m not writing this post to get you to sponsor me, I’m writing this post in the hopes that it might inspire even one of you to do something to help. Whether that be donating money to a charity, whether it be donating old clothes to a charity shop, or giving your time volunteering at an event. It can be something as simple as saving the stamps you get on your letters and sending them to a charity such as Macmillan.

Every little bit helps, even if all you can give is your time.

If you want to see how my team is getting on, or if you want to start your own JustGiving page to raise money for one of your favourite charities just follow the link below

https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/amylouisesugden

I'd love to hear about any fundraising activities you've done, and together we can support our favourite charities and hopefully make a difference to people who really need it.

As always, all my love, Amylou x

A little life update

Hey there,

It's safe to say i've missed this little blog.

A lot has happened since my last post a few months ago, and yet strangely, not much has changed.

I've graduated from one Masters degree, and after a couple of weeks not studying anything and being thankful that my essay and exam days were over, I signed up to and started another. I think i'm becoming something of an eternal student, and for someone who finds exams stressful, it's been an interesting decision to make.

There's been good dates and bad days, butterflies and arguments. There have been highs where i've been so excited and nervous that all I could hear was my own heartbeat, and lows where it's taken all i've got not to cry in frustration, and yet I can say with confidence that i've had the most fun few months in a long time.

As i'm sat here watching the Sex and the City movie, planning my Galentines date for Sunday, I suddenly felt the urge to get out my macbook and catch up on all my favourite blogs. My screen has been full of peonies and beaches, roses and ski chalets, and more than anything, it has reminded me of all the fun things that I want to do.

There's so much to see, so many places to visit and so many new things to learn, and I can't wait to get started.

Cupcakes, Cookies and Milkshakes in Newcastle

Hey lovelies,

Last weekend I headed up to Newcastle to visit my sister and one of our old family friends, and I just have to show you the amazing little cupcake and milkshake place we found!

After having lunch in Pitcher and Piano on the river, we started to think about where we could get some cakes, and my sister recommended a place her friend had told her about.

If you walk along the river, past the Millenium bridge and up into the centre you'll quickly come across a little place called the Great British Cupcakery, and it's officially my new favourite place for desserts.

The interior is so cute, it has mirrors, flowers and little quotes everywhere

But best of all are the amazing cakes and milkshakes that you can get, so we grabbed a table and ordered ourselves some treats

One look at these milkshakes and you know you're in heaven. My sister had a vanilla milkshake with crème pâtissière and a profiterole on the top, and I had a cookie milkshake, which had nutella all over the jar, freshly whipped cream and cookies all over it.

I couldn't believe my eyes when they were brought to our table, dessert heaven!

We found them impossible to finish so I definitely recommend having one of these for your meal rather than after it! But if you're like us and don't even come close to finishing then they do have paper take out cups so you can finish it later!

If you're ever in Newcastle, it's definitely worth the visit!

Have you ever been to the great british cupcakery?

Where is your favourite place to go for sweet treats?

Love, Amylou x

A Mini Mid May Favourites

Hello Lovelies,

Lately my monthly favourites have turned more into mid-month favourites, so here's some of the things i've been loving lately!

Naked Smoothies

I love these things, they taste soo good. It's become a little bit of obsession, which is probably not great as they have crazy amounts of natural sugar in (I was shocked how much sugar is in fruit haha) but they do have loads of vitamins in and it may be psychological, but I do feel so much more awake and just better when i've had one!

I would make my own smoothies, but I really hate the texture when there are seeds and skin in it, and these are really smooth, almost like a thick juice so i'd rather just drink these!

Personalised Stationery

These notebooks and mug are from GettingPersonal.co.uk and I love them so much. They were sent to me as a gift a week or so ago, and i've been using them everyday. The mug has gone to the office so I can have my hot drinks in it during the day, and the notebooks are full of blog and uni notes.

I wanted to get some notebooks specifically for blog notes but I didn't know where to get them from so I was so happy when these arrived! They are really good quality too, so if you're looking for some I definitely recommend having a look on their website! :)

Wantfeed

I've had a Wantfeed account for a while now, but it's only within the last few days that i'm starting to become a little addicted to just scrolling through the homepage.

It's sort of like a pinterest shopping list. It's the same endless scrolling you get sucked into on pinterest but you can add them to a list for people to just buy from, which is amazing, especially with my birthday coming up next month *hint hint mum and dad* (only joking, maybe).

Sorry it's only a quick post today, so much to do!

What have been your favourite things so far this month?

Hope you've all had a good weekend!

Love, Amylou x

Life Goals / Bucket List

Hey lovelies!

So I've been having a think about all of the things that I would love to do one day, and what better way to remember them than to make a little bucket list and put it on my blog so I can remember all of the things that I want to do.

Maybe i'll write one every year and see how what I want to do changes, I think that could be pretty interesting to see! Most of them will end up being things that i'll never be able to do, just things I dream of being able to do one day. But too high aspirations are better than too low ones I guess!

So here goes!

1. Visit every state in the USA

As you can see i'm quite a way off this one still! I've only been to New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Nevada and California, but I hope to visit the rest soon!

2. Open my own store

So many ideas for what I would love this to be, but it's something i'm still working on.

3. Live in the USA for a year

I don't know if i'd move over there forever, I think once I started a family i'd want to be closer to my family and live in the UK, but who knows!

4. Live by the sea

There's something just so calming about waking up or even going to sleep and hearing the waves crashing. Though I imagine this is something i'd tie in with living in the states, as it tends to just rain and be stormy on the British coast so you can't really appreciate it!

5. Learn another language

I've always wanted to be able to speak French or Italian. I got an A in my GCSE french but I didn't keep it up, and now I probably couldn't even order a sandwich. Hopefully it's something i'll get back into when I finish university later this year.

6. Have a house with a library room

source

I've always loved reading. I've written a separate post about all that, so I won't go into it again, but having a room with walls full of books is something I would absolutely love.

And it is something that I need to make happen one day.

7. Roadtrip across the USA

So many of my goals involve going over the states haha! I've read somewhere that there is a route you can take, over 3-6 months and you can visit every landmark in every state.

Unfortunately I can't take 6 months off to drive around the US, nevermind find someone able to come along too! I would absolutely love to do it one day though.

8. Get back involved with performing arts

When I was younger I spent years in theatre groups performing plays both musicals and non-musicals and I loved it. Something i'm not quick to admit is that sometimes I actually really miss it, i'm just too shy to get involved again.

I think if I did it, i'd want to get involved in the musical side of things, so i'd definitely need to brush up on my singing skills! There's something that just makes me so happy when i'm doing that sort of thing, even if it's just singing and over-acting musical numbers when i'm cooking or in the house on my own! The way you have to really get into it, especially the disney-style ones.

Maybe one day.

I think i'll leave it there for now!

If I think of some more I might come back and update this, and I'll make another next year and see if i've achieved any, or see if I have any new ones!

What would love to do one day, any of the things i've mentioned?

Love Amylou x

Current Life Favourites

Hey lovelies,

There are so many things i've been loving recently, it's way too late for a march favourites post so I thought i'd just share my current favourites! They are quite random favourites so i've called this post a lifestyle favourites as there isn't really a theme to them, just things i've been enjoying!

Favourite TV show: Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

I am so obsessed with this show. Season 4 is currently on and it's so good. Without ruining the story, if you haven't seen it (though most people have it seems!) it's about an evil queen who wants to ruin the happy ending of snow white and so sends all the fairytale characters to our world where they have no magic and don't remember who they are.

The fairytales are different to the ones we know, but I think it makes them better, the female characters are a lot stronger and more independent in this program too than in their disney stories. There are a few more sinister characters, and once or twice i've had to watch something afterwards before going to bed! But I think that's what makes me love it all the more, it's different and it makes the fairytales you loved as a kid all the more exciting.

One thing it is excellent for is making you think about evil. It reiterates the point that evil is made not born, and shows that most evil arises from envy, which is a very real point to be made. It also shows that everyone has both good and bad in them, and it's up to the individual to make their own choices and deal with the consequences.

The final thing that stands out to me is that they continue to say that 'all magic comes with a price'. I think that's a message that's very true. Not in the sense of actual magic, but in that if you take a short cut to get something, or do something you shouldn't, there will be a price (consequences) and that you should really think about whether it would be worth it.

Favourite Film: Cinderella

source

I only watched this film yesterday but I absolutely loved it. I'm a huge fan of the live action remakes that disney are doing at the moment. I think I was more impressed by Maleficent when it was first released, but Cinderella is definitely worth watching. The costumes are really good, they are still heavily influenced by the drawings in the original film, but they also have a modern twist on them to make them more relatable.

Everyone knows the story of cinderella and this is a really heartwarming version, it doesn't take much but I was almost crying at the sad parts of the film (no spoilers as to when) but it isn't so sad that it would upset children watching. The only downside to the remakes is that they don't include any of the songs that made the originals such magical films. If they had kept at least one or two of the songs in, I would have loved this film even more.

Favourite Album: PTX Volume 2

PTX Vol 2
source

I am absolutely loving Pentatonix at the moment, and this is my favourite album of theirs. Their cover of the Daft Punk songs is so good it's one of my top played songs ever. They are an acapella group, and if you didn't know you'd think they were just a normal group, the beats and rhythms that they make sound incredible. I'm actually in awe of their talent every time I watch any of their videos or listen to any songs. They also have a few originals on each album and Love Again which is on this album is my absolute favourite. It's also the video that includes the blue sparkly make up I showed you in a blog post recently. So good.

Favourite Clothing: Pink Joni Jeans - Topshop

These. Jeans. Are. Amazing. Seriously. You probably saw them on my last post and they are the comfiest things in the whole world, plus they are such a cute spring colour. I've been wearing them so much recently, they go with so many different tops and blazers and as they are cropped they look great with heels and flats. I don't know if they are meant to be crops or they just don't sell them long enough for me, but either way, they look great (if I do say so myself).

The Joni jean is a huge favourite of mine, I have them in a leather look black denim and I'm thinking of getting them in Duck Egg Blue too, which is my absolute favourite colour in the whole world. They are a stretchy denim fabric, but not as stretchy as jeggings, and definitely not as see through.

Favourite Drink: Pink Lemonade

Pink Lemonade
source

My love affair with pink lemonades began in a wine bar in Lancaster called Oscar's. They are made from vodka, cointreau, southern comfort, cranberry juice, lime cordial and lemonade. Or at least the ones I drink are, and they are so amazing. Really refreshing and fruity, a perfect spring drink, plus throw in a few slices of lemon and add a little umbrella and is there really any better pink cocktail? I think not.

What do you think of my favourites? What are you loving at the moment?

Hello Spring, Hello Blogging!

Hello you wonderful lovely people.

You know some days you wake up and you just know it's going to be a good day?

For me, today was one of those days.

It probably has a lot to do with the majority of my deadlines ending today, and finally having some time to blog and just relax again, plus it's the first day of Spring!

I woke up at around half 6 and just felt like I was going to have such a productive day so I did my morning workouts, got ready for the day, caught up on a few youtube videos whilst I had breakfast and headed to uni for half 8. I managed to get my dissertation interim report and a statistics assignment on voles both finished off and handed in before half 11 then picked up two assignments and made notes for my next piece of work and was home for 1pm!

I may have also squeezed in a girly chat at one of the campus bars in that time too, you always have to make time for those!

And now i'm home and I don't have to read any more scientific papers until monday morning, and it's bad how excited that makes me.

I was planning on spending my afternoon writing up a new fashion based blog post, but instead this little ramble has happened. The beauty of a lifestyle blog, I can upload little rambles now and again!

I'm looking forward to a crazy friday night of blog writing, vogue reading, and chilled sauvignon blanc drinking. I'm so old, and I don't even care.

I've also had the Daft Punk Pentatonix video on repeat whilst i've been writing this, how amazing is that video?! How much fun would it be to recreate the makeup?! I feel like this may have to happen for Halloween this year.

I hope you have all had a wonderful week and have fun plans for the weekend! I'm looking forward to not doing anything and not feeling guilty about it, just having a lazy saturday in my comfy clothes and finally doing some blogging and it's going to be amazing.

What are you doing this weekend?

All my love, Amylou x

Perspective/It doesn't really matter

Hey lovelies.

I was all set to write a little rambly update post about why I haven't been uploading many blogs recently. It's basically because I'm a terrible student and I let my routine go to pot and feel like I'm not really in control of what i'm doing with all the coursework and dissertation stuff i've got going on.

It was going to be a long one.

I'd already typed most of it out, complete with little pictures from Pinterest and everything.

But just now I got a text from one of my best friends in the whole world about something personal in her life, and it made me realise, it doesn't actually matter. So I deleted that post, and now i'm writing whatever comes into my head now instead!

So what if I end up staying awake until almost midnight, snoozing my alarm without thinking, and not getting up until 9am throwing my whole day off?

So what if I'm so tired I go to the shop as soon as I get to campus to buy Mountain Dew (the only energy drink that doesn't give me chest pain) and then want chocolate/crisps and then my whole healthy eating for the day is gone?

So what if I end up staying on campus late every day because I feel like I'm never going to get my work done?

It doesn't matter.

I'm not going to write a soppy post, because that isn't needed right now, but I also feel silly complaining about my problems, when I know how she feels because I had to go through it once too.

She is so strong, she will be ok (If you're reading this you're stronger than you think lovely, you'll feel better soon I promise), and in a weird way, it made me realise I need to stop complaining and actually just sort myself out!

So instead, here's a list of things that I seem to stress about/do that really don't matter:

1. Having six pairs of shoes by the door. You keep the rest upstairs and that's just so far away, and you never know which pair you're going to want to wear.

2. Having Ab, Butt, and Thigh workouts stuck to your mirror even though you only do them every other day. You would do them everyday or even twice a day, but sometimes you just need that extra hour of sleep and/or you have tv to catch up on!

3. Having graduate recruitment brochures on your desk and never reading them. The future is scary! and you still have 9 months until you officially graduate from uni/grad school so you don't need to panic just yet right?!

4. Living in pjs/a onesie at home. You're at home you deserve to be relaxed! Plus less washing is always a good thing (less of a chance to shrink things in the dryer when you don't want to wait for it to dry naturally).

5. Overdressing when you leave the house. Hey you just got that new outfit and it's so adorable, who cares if it's more suited to a formal dinner, you look cute! Plus who knows who you'll run into! Personally I just feel happier if i'm in a skirt and heels!

6. Eating all of the chocolate. Chocolate gives you endorphins and makes you feel happy! You are literally eating happiness, can't argue with that!

7. Using coconut oil because it makes your kitchen smell good. Apparently it's super good for you, and has all these health benefits when compared to other oils, but all you care about it is that it makes your kitchen smell amazing when you use it *heart emojis everywhere*

8. Telling everyone when you're being healthy. To be fair, if you're posting photos of your super healthy food, or taking selfies at the gym, people are well aware you are just wanting to show it off and it's not your everyday, but hey, that smoothie was good, and it's not like you're going to show off your quavers and diet coke is it?! You're proud of the healthy choice you made and everyone needs to know about it!

9.Drinking bottled water. Ok, so this one does actually matter. I'm an environmental student so I know bottled water is incredibly bad for the environment and global warming and all that, but my water tastes really gross, and I haven't seen a filter yet, plus bottled water is so cheap. I know, i'm a terrible person, i'm literally writing 2 assignments right this second on global warming...whilst drinking bottled water. But it'll be fine, i'm sure. Maybe. Probably not.

10. Making pointless lists as procrastination. Sometimes you just get stuck into procrastination and you just don't want to stop!

This post ended up being a lot longer than intended!

I just wanted to say that I have a reason why I haven't been posting, but all of my deadlines (except my dissertation) are the 20th, so I only have 15 more days to go (which is more than a little scary).

So I won't be around much for the next two weeks, but then hopefully I can get back to it!

If any of you are going through a tough time, try to look on the bright side. Don't allow yourself to wallow in it too much, but also don't let anyone tell you it could be worse, because I really hate that saying.

Just because one person's battle might seem worse to you than someone elses, you don't know what it's like for them both so you can't comment. You wouldn't say to a guy with his arm hanging off, oh it doesn't hurt that much, you could have both hanging off, it could be worse. So don't do it for other things either.

I realise i've talked about perspective which is a bit contradictory, but I think it's ok when you are talking about your own battles.

Now I really should get back to work!

I don't have a question to end this with, because really the whole post doesn't have any particular train of thought, just my rambles.

I just hope you're all having a really wonderful day!

Love, Amylou x

Friday Five: TV Shows

Hey guys!

I don't watch a lot of tv, i'd much rather be curled up with a hot chocolate reading some of my favourite blogs, but there are some shows that I shut down everything else for, and these are the shows that I absolutely love.

1. Suits

I'm currently on season 4 episode 6, which is the most recent episode in the UK and I seriously can't get enough.

The first two seasons are on Netflix and I watched them in about 4 weeks, which is quick to say I was working and doing uni stuff at the same time! The third season I had to buy on itunes as it wasn't on catch up or Netflix, and now the fourth season is on Dave and every week I can't wait for it.

Without ruining it, Suits is about a law firm in NYC and focuses on two main characters Mike and Harvey. Though to be honest, my favourite character is Donna, she is amazing. Harvey hires Mike after he is the only one who impresses at the interviews, despite never having studied at Harvard Law School, a requirement of the law firm.

I'm always attracted to characters that are sure of themselves, and that can just bounce off each other, and this show is full of this, really really good.

2. White Collar

White Collar is one of those shows that once you've watched one episode, you just want to watch them all. For me anyway! I'm still catching up on Netflix and it's one of my favourite things to do.

FBI agent Peter Burke has finally caught criminal mastermind Neal Caffrey, but he manages to escape from jail with only months to go until the end of his sentence. Agent Burke finds him and they make a deal where Neal finishes the rest of his sentence working for the FBI as a consultant, helping with forgery and art theft cases.

It hooked me in straight away, and I love the character of Mozzie, one of Neal's friends and a fellow con man. So funny.

Also, Matt Bomer is just beyond beautiful, and to be honest i'd probably watch for that reason alone.

3. Revenge

Revenge is a show about just that. The main character Emily Thorne is seeking revenge for the injustice that her father suffered at the hands of a rich and powerful family who live in the Hamptons.

You really feel for Emily, though sometimes she can seem a little crazy, Emily VanCamp plays her character in such a way that you really want her to succeed and finally be happy again.

There's lots of ups and downs, and things that you really don't want to happen, but it does a good job of showing that if revenge is the path you go down, you will hurt people you love and it might not be the best option!

I love it, 100% recommend.

4. The Great Comic Relief Bake Off

I've loved The Great British Bake Off every since the first episode aired back in 2010. People apply from all over the UK to be the best amateur baker and many contestants have gone into baking and cooking careers afterwards.

This year there has been a spin off for comic relief (it has been done before for sport relief too) and it has been so good so far I can't wait for the next one.

The photo i've put up is from my favourite episode of the celebrity comic relief version so far with Jonathan Ross, Zoe Sugg, Abby Clancy and Gok Wan. It was hilarious. Jonathan Ross was terrible and it was so funny to watch, it really puts you in the mood to have a go, because they laugh it off when it goes wrong for them too.

I really recommend you look it up, I don't know if you can watch it outside of the UK, but I hope you can! Whilst you're watching you could also do your good deed of donating to Comic Relief too!

5. Greek

I've only started watching this fairly recently, but i'm already on season 3. I've always had a soft spot for shows about sororities/university/high school (I was obsessed with 90210, gossip girl and privileged) and I love this one.

It's basically about Rusty, a freshman studying Polymer science who wants to join a fraternity. His older sister Casey is in a sorority and doesn't think he has what it takes to join the greek system, but he makes it in and thrives.

Whilst centering on some main characters the main theme of the show seems to be the rivalry within the greek system, and I think I love it most because we don't have anything like that in the UK, and I really wish we did, it looks like so much fun! (Other than the hazing).

And those are my favourite shows at the minute!

Do you watch any of these? What are your favourite things to watch, i'd love some new recommendations!

Photography Walls

Hello there lovelies!

For the longest time i've wanted a wall filled with different sized photographs and quotes, much like this:

I'd mix it up with some mirrors and I think i'd have some colour in there, though I really do like the black and white/sepia theme in that photo.

I thought i'd share with you some of the photos and photo styles that i'd want to have up on my wall. Maybe i'll do a post another time with the quotes and mirrors! :)

The photos below aren't mine and the links to the source of each one is under the photos.

I'm a real sucker for a sunset. I can just look at photos like this and imagine myself sat on a beach wrapped up in a blanket watching the sun go down listening to two door cinema club and the thought of all that just makes me so happy.

I would have to have a photo of the Eiffel Tower on my wall. I have such fond memories of Paris, even though I was ill the last time I went, it will always have a place in my heart as one of my favourite places, it's such a beautiful city.

The architecture is beyond amazing, and there's just such a wonderful vibe to the city. I definitely walked around in awe. I definitely want to go back many, many times in the future.

I had the best holiday of my life when I stayed in New York City the summer before last. Call me a googly eyed tourist, but honestly it was so much more than I expected.

The first day walking around I fell in love. I would absolutely love to live here for a while, even if just for a year. It's just one of those places you walk around and think, yeah, this feels right.

It's just the mix of people you see. Tourists in their I heart NY t-shirts, and the business men and women in their suits, runners in their gym gear, and then people like me just walking round amazed by how tall everything is.

A lot of things went wrong for me after I got back from new york, and whilst everything is better than ever now, when I was in that down time I could always look back to how amazing those three weeks were, and it's a time I really appreciate, and I have such good memories with my family there.

So that's why I need NYC on my wall!

This one is pretty self explanatory and follows on from my other New York photos. I saw my first baseball game at Yankee Stadium and I was sold, it really is the best game.

So much team spirit and so much fun to watch. I definitely want reminders on how amazing that day was!

I love Vegas. Some parts are tacky, and some parts are amazing.

Again, part of the most amazing holiday, but one of my favourite places to travel now. I went to the best asian restaurant in the Venetian called Tao, which is also a nightclub I believe, but the food was so so good.

I was only there for 3 days, but it was just such a good 3 days. It's a holiday I want to remember forever (broken record I know) but so many good memories.

I would, of course, need a photo of my favourite flowers in the whole world. Peonies.

This one was taken in a Parisian market. Aren't they just the most beautiful flowers? I've loved them ever since I was a little girl.

No one has ever bought me peonies *cue worlds tiniest violin* so until they do, a photo on my wall will have to do!

credit

I love beach huts. Always have, always will. There's just something so serene about a row of beach huts at the seaside. They are adorable, and they just make me happy.

I plan to live by a beach one day soon, so hopefully i'll be seeing a lot more of these!

I just want photos that are either of things I love (i'd also include a lot of family and friends) or ones that remind of places i've been and the memories that come with them.

I couldn't find a good one, but i'd love a photo of a quadracycle. When we were in California we drove down the west coast, and in one of the towns we stopped off in, me, my sister and my parents drove one along the beach front and it was so. much. fun.

If you get the chance to ride one, do it!

If you had a photo wall what would you include on yours?

Would you have photos of things you love, places you've been, or would you prefer paintings from your favourite artists?

Valentines Day

Hey guys!

Thanks to old Saint Valentine, February is celebrated as a month of love in many countries, and although the history of St Valentine isn't known absolutely, Valentines day is still one of the cutest holidays.

Whilst February 14th is a day that everyone feels like they should show how much they love someone, you shouldn't confine it to one day. If you love someone, you should show it all year round!

But I still love a good excuse to celebrate anything, and I love all things to do with love, so of course Valentines is high on my list of favourites!

Plus it gives more excuses for cards with puns on, and they really are the best type

There's way too much importance put on having the perfect valentines, when all you need to do is spend it with the person, or people, that you love! :)

There's so many different things you can do, depending on how you want to spend your day/night! :)

One of my favourite ways to spend a date night is to make a pillow/blanket fort (because i'm an adult) or push two sofas together and make a little blanket den in there, so cosy. Then get out some chocolates, some drinks, and put a cute romcom on.

Going out for dinner is always a good option, but it's also just as much fun to make your favourite dinner at home together :) You could always mix the two together and make dinner at home then just get dressed up to go out for dessert. I actually really want to do that now.

Whatever you do, just make sure it's something you enjoy, and with someone that makes you happy!

I've had quite different experiences in the past, cosy nights in, going out for dinner, a trip to paris, and being asked to move out. It's always an eventful weekend, and always different from the last!

What are you doing this valentines? Date night, or a night with friends?

Whatever you do, I hope it's exceptionally cheesy!

Life Update - I moved again!

Hey guys!

It's been so long since my last post! But I have a good(ish) excuse as i've actually moved again! I've moved into a gorgeous cottage up near my uni and i'm here for the next 3 months! Woop! (I really like this one)

There's a garden centre next door (ish) and I got the cutest little planter for my kitchen window

So cute. I've been assured my room will smell amazing when they all flower!

I've moved a lot. Since starting uni this is the 8th (or 9th) time i've moved. So i'm getting pretty good at packing, though I still 'need' way too much, it took my car and a whole van to get everything here, and it's only 12 weeks haha! But then after I leave here into my next place hopefully that will be it for a while! But in the mean time, I can't wait to make this into my home for a while!

I have some cute new neighbours too

Though they look a bit angry if I take too many photos!

I need to go outside and pick up the chair that is on the floor in these photos, but honestly, those angry faces scare me! haha

Just a quick update, but i'm just getting settled in and now i've got my uni timetables all sorted I can hopefully get back into my blogging, i've missed it! Sorry this post wasn't saying much, i'm still trying to get sorted, but just wanted to share some photos of my cute/terrifying neighbours haha.

I don't really have a question for you guys today, just wanted to say hello!

Hope you're all having a wonderful day! :)

Love, Amylou x
