Blogmas Day Four: The Christmas Tag!

Hey Guys!

So a while ago I saw the Christmas Tag over on the MakeupSavvy blog and thought i'd give it a go! As I was doing blogmas I thought it would fit in perfectly too! You can head over to MakeupSavvy.co.uk and read Fee's answers here :)

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?

I would have to say that my all time favourite christmas movie has to be Elf. Will Ferrell just embodies the spirit of christmas so perfectly, and it's just such a happy film! My excitement for christmas borders on that level, and if I could have the spaghetti with chocolate sauce and smarties and chocolate for breakfast, I would.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Christmas morning! Santa hasn't been on christmas eve so how could you possibly open your presents then?! ;) We do get one present on christmas eve though, this year it's our christmas onesies so we can watch christmas films before heading out to celebrate with neighbours! (In christmas jumpers, not the onesies, though that would be fun!)

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

I don't have a favourite christmas memory from just one year I don't think anyway! My favourite memories from christmas are always just that I get to see my family and we all just have a good time together. Christmas for me is about sharing time with the people you love and being thankful that you have such wonderful people in your life.

4. Favourite festive food?

The Christmas Turkey! We must only have turkey around three times a year? And the christmas one is always the best! It just tastes so good! And the roast potatoes, and the mashed potatoes (I love potatoes can you tell?) and yorkshire puddings! mmmmm

5. Favourite Christmas gift?

This is a tricky one! I don't know! I've loved everything i've ever gotten for christmas, and I don't think I have a favourite. Though as a little girl i'm sure it was getting my first bike, and then my wendy house for the garden. This year is my favourite I think, if I had to pick, as I love photography and even though i've gotten to play with cameras i've only had compact digital cameras before (which I love) but this year i'm getting the Canon 700D as my first DSLR and I can't wait. :D

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

Hmm. We don't burn scented candles in my house so I don't have a scent like that to remember christmas by, but we spend a lot more time in the house so we bake a lot more, which always smells incredible, and of course the smell of christmas dinner!

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

I don't actually! For the past few years i've been visiting various people on christmas eves, but this year i'm staying at home and I think that should be my new tradition. I'm looking forward to spending the whole christmas time with my sister and my parents and the rest of my family, and we might start our own tradition this year. It's important to spend it with those you love, and those who love you.

8. What tops your tree?

It used to be a little blonde white fairy that we've had since I was a baby, but much to my heartbreak (yes family, heartbreak), my family decided it needed to be replaced and so last year we got a gold star for the top. But if it was up to me, the old disheveled fairy would definitely be up there!

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

I don't think there ever was anything! I wasn't a spoilt brat or anything I just don't think i've ever asked for anything that wasn't reasonable! I don't really like horses so I wouldn't have asked for one of those, until this year I was scared of most dogs, so never wanted a puppy. I don't know! If I find one i'll edit into this post afterwards haha!

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
Ah, there's SO many, I love National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Elf, The Santa Clause etc. but one that I watch every year, without fail is The Snowman on Christmas eve. I absolutely adored the Snowman and The Snow dog. My dad bought me the little plushie last year, so cute.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Always on Christmas morning (usually whilst scoffing Christmas chocolate) We usually get new Christmas Pyjamas on Christmas Eve, but we save the present opening for Christmas day morning.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
My parents always used to go all out at Christmas. We'd come downstairs to presents, balloons, reindeer prints made out of glitter, red and white tape for the north pole, it was so magical as kids!
4. favourite festive food?
Aside from chocolate...Roast potatoes during Christmas dinner, so many roast potatoes.

5. Favourite Christmas gift ?
I can't remember how old I was, but it was the year of the Furby. I'm sure there were small riots amongst the shelves in Toys R us. My parents pretended they couldn't get me one but then it was hidden behind the sofa! (anyone else hide theirs in the wardrobe at night, they were so creepy!)

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Christmas dinner cooking, mmm or the smell of the Christmas tree!
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Just that it's family time, we'll usually all have wine, the fire on, lots of yummy food and sit down in our new pyjamas to watch Christmas films.

8. What tops your tree?
For years and years it was a little gold vintage angel, my dad always lifted me up to put it on the tree, when I was a kid... at the very end of decorating everything. She was always kind of wonky and worn looking, but it was tradition. These days it's a big gold glittery star.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Not in an ungrateful way. I mean, I used to circle half of the Argos catalogue! But every year I would ask for a dog, without fail. One year my parents brought it a huge box, with holes in and something was moving. I was certain it was a puppy...it was a rabbit ha ha Still one of the best pets I've ever had though. Then last year, I finally bought myself my own Christmas puppy :) Oscar on the 21sr of December. He was certainly worth the wait.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Spending time with my loves ones, friends and family, after eating Christmas dinner, watching Only fools and Horses episodes that we've seen ten times already. Watching the snow fall and generally having a lovely time.

I've probably repeated this about a hundred times now (sorry) but my family! I'm blessed in that I have a family that is close and really loves each other. I lived at uni for the past 4 years so it was so nice to be able to come home and spend that time with my family. Now i'm home again, I love it even more! Christmas is a time to be appreciative for what and who you have in your life. The people that support you and want you to be happy, and will always stand by you because you're a good person and they love you.

Everyone just seems generally happier around this time too. I love seeing how excited the children in my family are at christmas, that spirit of still believing and seeing santa and laying out treats for the reindeer, everything is just so magical to them. I wish more people held onto that christmas spirit.

And that's it! :) If you want to do the tag then simply copy the questions below and answer them on your blog too! Let me know in the comments if you do as i'd love to read them!
